Favorite activities: reading, writing, crosswords, Jeopardy!, moviegoing, television (and proud of it), piano, didgeridoo, foreign languages (currently Spanish), light hiking, spiritual practice, friendship, sex.
Hollywood, California, is my spiritual hometown. I actually grew up in three other communities in California, but it hardly seems to matter which three. How could my heart take root anywhere under the tyranny of American public schooling?

In her naked ambition, Jamie Graham of Ohio State University has gone from the “Girls of the Big 10” pictorial in the October 2008 issue, to a March 2009 Cyber Girl of the Week, to the July 2009 Cyber Girl of the Month. Feminists might be interested to know that the Playboy Cyber Club calls her “opportunistic”—and means it in a good way. The word has often had a negative connotation, especially when used to describe a woman, but twenty-first century guys can see beauty in female opportunism. After all, the thrill is not just in seeing an exposed body but in seeing someone’s intention to expose her body. At least in this particular sense, a Playboy model is always appreciated for her mind. A mere piece of meat couldn’t have an intention.
