Site Meter Reflections on Playboy: What sort of playboy uses a Macintosh?

What sort of playboy uses a Macintosh?

To speak generally, I don’t know. But I can’t be the only Mac user among Playboy’s devoted fans, so I’ll grumble in public about a high-tech entertainment source I can’t use yet—especially when a marketer invites that kind of criticism explicitly.

Last night, I was excited and flattered by this unsolicited email:
Hi,

I’m writing from BitTorrent. If you’re not familiar with BitTorrent, we’re a leading P2P digital entertainment company with licensed video content from over 50 partners, including Fox, MGM, Warner Bros, MTV, Paramount and more.

I saw that your blog “Reflections on Playboy” is the premier unofficial Playboy blog on the internet. So I thought you would want to be the first to hear that we have just closed a deal with Playboy to offer high quality playboy video content for download on BitTorrent.com. In the coming weeks tons of Playboy content will flood BitTorrent, and you are the first to know!!!!!

Below I’ve included a link to our Playboy section

Thank you,

From what my Mac could tell me of the product, it looks competitively priced and convenient for those with a high-speed Internet connection and a Windows operating system. Although I’m still grateful to report as an invited critic, I wish I had more to report already, with the speed and convenience that BitTorrent hopes to attract customers by.

Back in March, at the official Playboy Blog, Scott Alexander defended firms like BitTorrent against the accusation by the Recording Industry Association of America that they enable piracy and threaten legitimate profit.
